FARREL MANUFACTURING INSTRUCTIONS F.M.I. - 64.53.01.17 PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASED ITEMS

  1. SCOPE:
    1. This instruction covers the packaging requirements for our vendors on manufactured parts.
  1. RESPONSIBILITY:
    1. It is the vendors’ responsibility to package the item being transported to ensure it will arrive at its destination without any damage.
  1. PROCEDURE:
    1. All manufactured parts must be packaged or boxed to prevent any damage caused by normal handling, shipping and/or any weather conditions.
    2. Manufactured item is considered damaged if any of the following conditions exist after arrival to its destination.
      1. Scratches to machined surfaces – regardless of depth or severity.
      2. Rust or corrosion of any degree.
      3. Distortion – Special consideration must be provided in packaging long, thin, fragile, and/or flimsy parts.
      4. Dents, dings, bumps, nicks and/or indentations – regardless of the cause or severity.
      5. Dirt, sand, salt, road grime, soot or any foreign material not part of the original packaging.
