Special Farrel Mill Features
Drilled Rolls – Provide the highest rate of heat transfer for fast temperature changes and efficient heating and cooling
Roller Bearings – For variable speed or slow speed rolls under high loads, they help maintain roll gap accuracy due to small bearing clearance. Simple grease-packed lubrication
Tip-Up Stock Guides – Guides are swung up by air cylinders for quick cleaning to avoid stock contamination
Hydraulic Roll Drives – For adjustable speeds and frictions ratios to increase or degrease work input, prevent “bagging” and direct material to the desired roll for strip take-off
Power Roll Adjustment – For changing roll gap setting, under load or making frequent changes
Hydraulic Nip Adjustments – Provides quick roll adjustments, overload protection and emergency quick opening. Three styles: 1) Simple, manual operation, visual positioning, overload protection 2) Coarse setting within 1/16”, programmable 3) Precision unit with servos and accurate LVDT for setting within .005”
Plows or Diverters – To promote lateral stock movement toward strip removal knives used on continuous compounding mills
