The Farrel Melt Pump (FMP) conveys polymer melt from a continuous mixer or extruder and generate pressure as needed for melt filtration and pelletizing.

The FMP features large inlet opening with feed pockets to accommodate a low pressure feed condition. Chevron style gears efficiently convey and pressurize the melt to provide a smooth, pulse free discharge. Due to its design parameters, the typical volumetric efficiency of the FMP is in the 90 to 95% range. Because of the short residence time and limited energy dissipation, the melt temperature rise is small and material quality is not affected.
