The FCM™ is based on a proven intensive mixing concept that is energy efficient, versatile and dependable. All ingredients can be fed to the mixer separately or as a pre-blend, and liquids can be injected directly into the mixing chamber. The material is exposed to a variable mixing intensity in the form of shear stress and strain developed between the rotor tips and chamber wall as well as melt blending by the kneading action between the rotors.

The CM and UM sizes are used for a wide range of applications, in particular polyolefin and PVC based compounds. Each mixer model, has been designed with attention to geometric relationships of critical processing areas that permits accurate extrapolation of data between small and large machines. While the mixer is typically combined with an extruder and underwater pelletizer for high capacity post-reactor applications, the mixer is combined with a Farrel Melt Pump and Underwater Pelletizer to form the Advex System.
